Dalstuene (Skogstuene) Cabins

Dalstuene are the old cabins managed by Nord-Troms Museum and are located about 3 km from the nearest parking space at Rundvannsbekken. An excellent starting point for fishing the Kvænangselva river or for hikes further into the valley.

Dalstuen Statskog cabin is located about 3 km from the nearest parking space at Rundvannsbekken. An excellent starting point for fishing the Kvænangselva river or for hikes further into the valley.

Gearbbethytta

Gearbbethytta is a cabin for rent, managed by Statskog. It is located about 5 km from the nearest parking space at the end of Gearbbetveien road. This cabin is an excellent base for fishing in the nearby lake, hunting lagopus, or for further hikes into the valley.

Kvalvannsgammen

Kvalvannsgammen is a small hut next to a small, nameless lake (533 m above sea level) south of Ásllagajávri. This area is north of the Kvænangsdalen valley, at the southmost point of the protected area. This cabin belongs to Statskog and is mainly to be used in emergencies.

Lappasriidig

Lappasriidig is another small hut next to a small, nameless lake in southeastern Kvænangsdalen, just by the border of the protected area. It is owned and managed by Statskog.

There are four beds and a wood stove inside.

Navitgammen

Navitgammen is located by Sáiva in Navitdalen, just north of Gamneset. The hut was built in 2019/2020 as a cultural heritage project, financed by the protected area board. There are many other old huts in the area, some barely visible under the peat, some derelict but still visible.

Navitgammen has the appearance of a traditional bealljegoahti/peat hut, built with birch and peat which are the traditional materials used in the past for their durability compared to a traditional goahti/hut.

There is space for 2-4 beds inside, and a wood stove.
